If technology companies/departments want to diversify their teams and welcome members of the LGBTQIA community, they need to look outside traditional hiring and training processes to accomplish this. For underrepresented groups, it can be difficult to find spaces that are welcoming and safe. In this session, Michelle will discuss how companies can diversify their workforce and the importance of doing so. They will share actionable steps such as incorporating apprenticeships, removing background checks, and share proven and effective hiring approaches for increasing representation.
