Lazarus is the Strategic Communications Manager at Bocoup – an inclusive tech consulting company. Laz is a Ph.D. Candidate in American Studies at the University of New Mexico. Their research and work focus largely on Black and Indigenous liberation, gender and colonization, and the role of music in Black freedom movements. They strive to make radical history engaging and accessible. Laz’s writing can be found on queer sites like Autostraddle and them., zines, and assorted dry academic journals. They are also a musician, playing as a solo artist and as a violist for the band Eileen & the In-Betweens and the art collective Stages of Tectonic Blackness.
