THE BOI DOC
THE BOI DOC utilizes dialogue to break the silence created by racism, sexism, gender expression insensitivity, heterosexism, homophobia, and transphobia. It is our belief that when people are shown images of people they can relate to or see positive and productive members of society who look or live like them, they will aspire to do the same, but even more, they’ll see the humanity of the people whose story they’re hearing and see their own humanity reflected back. Furthermore, we believe when people see themselves reflected in the media, whether someone looks like them or is experiencing a similar situation, they not only feel accepted, but also affirmed and empowered.

THE BOI DOC is an artistic manifestation of the filmmakers desire to add their honest, uniquely provocative, and eloquent narratives about gender and gender expression through the Masculine and Masculine of Center queer voice of the people of the African diaspora to the world.

The TherActivist: They/Them/Theirs book and documentary project shines a light on the intersections of identity, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; gender expression and social justice activism against the backdrop of anti-Black racism, anti-LGBTQIA violence, and social exclusion. A combination of Black Lives Matter, LGBTQIA+ rights, equity and more! The TherActivist embodies a “therapeutic activism” approach, while servicing and empowering people of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, and marginalized populations.
